Bengaluru: Hours after reporting 2,479 new Covid-19 instances on Tuesday, the Karnataka authorities introduced a weekend curfew within the state from Friday 10 pm until Monday 5 am each week.
“Weekend curfew to be imposed from 10 pm of Friday to five am of Monday in the complete state, in view of rising Covid-19 instances,” Karnataka minister R Ashoka introduced whereas chatting with reporters.
Whereas the weekend curfew can be imposed throughout the state, important commodities and accommodations will operate with none interruption.
The Karnataka authorities additionally introduced that every one theatres, malls, pubs and bars within the state can be allowed to function at 50 per cent capability and no gatherings can be allowed at public locations in view of the rising Covid-19 instances.

The minister additionally stated that colleges in Bengaluru can be shut for all college students, barring these from Class 10 and 12, for 2 weeks from January 6.
The choice to announce the brand new curbs comes after Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai chaired a gathering of the Covid professional committee on Tuesday night.
